In this hands-on and educational camp, students will work their way through the 2.5 million year natural history of projectile weapons. Beginning with crude and rudimentary tools, to throwing sticks, spears, slings, atl-atl’s, and finally arriving at the bow & arrow, campers will learn about and practice using the variety of tools humans have used throughout our history to hunt animals.
This camp is part natural history, part tool making, and part applied usage. Campers will learn how humans have advanced physically and sociologically in conjunction with our hunting technology. Then we’ll puts our hands to the craft of building these very tools. Along the way we’ll have tons of fun practicing using all these projectiles in a safe and controlled environment.
