Spring 2023 • Birds, Beetles & Butterflies • Ages 6-8 • Thursdays, March 2 - May 25, with a break on the week of April 17-23 (for Earthskills Rendezvous) [12 program days total]
Birds, Beetles, and Butterflies: Some of the most beautiful and intriguing creatures we share these mountains with all have one thing in common: WINGS! Join us this Spring as we don our scientists caps, get out our magnifying glasses and binoculars, and dive into the world of insects and avians.
Spring is the perfect time to search for and observe a huge variety of birds and insects. As the Earth thaws, the beatles, butterflies and many other small creatures begin to awaken from their winter slumbers, and they are hungry! Not only that, the birds begin migrating back home after their long journeys south for the winter.
Where do they nest and make their homes? What do they like to eat? Who might be wanting to eat them?
Activities will include:foraging, bird and insect ID using field guides, journaling and drawing, a special bird/bug presentation project, as well as our usual host of nature connection games and activities.
