Bramblehurst School of Bushcraft & Wizardry • July 3-7

It’s your first day of class at the new Bramblehurst School of Bushcraft & Wizardry, and you’ve just been sorted into the House that will likely determine your new best friends for next week.  You had thought Transfiguration was your first class, but the animated writing on the schedule you were issued keeps shifting and now reads Herbology 101.  Making your way across the wooded campus, the trail meanders through stands of old growth Oaks and Hickories, some of which seem to watch with curiosity as you pass underneath. As you near the squat earthen hut that must be the Herbology classroom, a burst of light from inside is quickly followed by an explosion of growth as vines climb out the door and windows, reaching up to the forest canopy.  This is going to be an interesting week…

Possible lessons may include(and will vary to be age appropriate):

• Carving your own wand from wild harvested wood
• Making healing potions 
• Felting wool socks to give to house elves in need
• Forming clay cauldrons for potion brewing
• Becoming invisible as if you’re wearing an invisibility cloak by learning camouflage 
• Dipping handmade candles
• Learning to to tend, use, and  feed wild magical plants in Herbology Class
• Caring for the forest by planting a Whomping Willow using dragon dung as fertilizer
• Crafting a bamboo cup to drink butter beer and pumpkin juice
